Turned Out Tuned Up
My favourite blog-owner, collage artist and neato photographer Maya Villiger has relaunched her blog, Turned Out.
These guys had a hand in it and it feels right, like elements have converged to bring the only other website I check every day (apart from The Blackmail, duh!) to where it needs to be.
I have used some screen shots from the new site here but I highly recommend you check out the real thing. AFTER I DIE

When I was at University, I had the pleasure of being lectured by Australian immigrant design legend Mimmo D Cozzolino. Mimmo is opening his life and collections up in a new show in February at Monash University.
AFTER I DIE. Archives, autobiography, photography – Mimmo D Cozzolino.
For forty years I’ve been hiding bits of my life in shoe boxes, folders, draws and filing cabinets.
For the last four years (as part of an MFA at Monash University) I’ve been looking at what I put away and choosing the fragments that say something about my life as a migrant and ‘New Australian’, designer, photographer and artist. This research has concluded with the creation of nine limited edition books, which I want to share with you.
The books will be on show at:
Monash Faculty of Art Design & Architecture Masters Gallery D2.09
Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th February 2012, between 10am and 5pm.

Dream On
That girl Georgia Perry has been busy making big and small dreams a reality with her neon dreamcatchers. Check out her new store for some zines and like or the interview we did with her last year in the old version of The Blackmail. Justin’s Apartment
Welcome to the home of my intern Justin and his boyfriend Troy. I first met Justin as an art collector interested mostly in Kate Smith, and our friendship grew from there. Justin and Troy’s collection includes work from Sean Bailey, Thomas Jeppe, Jess Lucas, Lizzy Newman, Kate Smith, Esther Stuart, Alex Vivian and Paul Wotherspoon.
Test Pressing – A Random Function #1
Good to see regular contributions are rolling in over here. The Blackmail now returns to my list of daily visits alongside London based Test Pressing. Run by Paul Byrne, who produces music and DJs under the alias of Apiento, the multi-faceted Test Pressing documents the past, present and future of Balearic culture. It’s expansive offering covers everything from scanned magazine articles from 70/80/90s music bibles, features on record sleeve designers Jean-Paul Goude, Barney Bubbles and Andy Warhol, taped BBC6 transmissions, audio documentaries, reports on new balearic inclined releases and a growing archive of mixtapes contributed by the world’s finest. There’s certainly something in there for everyone and don’t be overwhelmed if you’ve come in late – Paul has just launched a pdf compendium of site highlights including chats with Compass Point Allstar Wally Badarou and former Cafe Del Mar DJ Phil Mison as well as photos spreads of Factory’s Hacienda and Keith Haring visiting The Le Mans 24 Hour in 1984. Load it on your ipad and find a nice tree to spend the afternoon under!
