Amore Amore!

I knew it! I knew the moment I let those slanderous Spring utterances escape my lips I was tempting fate! But my-oh-my, I’ve never been so delighted to be proven wrong!
I’d heard whispers that Milan had a surprise in store this season, but who could have predicted the vibrancy and freshness of Dolce & Gabbana’s nostalgic Sicilian romance? The show was breathtaking! So carefully thought-out, so lovingly assembled. The season’s strongest looks were ever-so artfully twisted to accentuate D&G’s themes – the slim shadow of the matador vs the tasselled latino curves of a silver screen siren.
Bejewelled crucifix’s adorned black ribbon chokers and coin-laden chains as D&G re-interpreted the ‘New Gothic’ vision. Ornate layered lace work met provincial crochet embellishment, then somehow blended ever so seamlessly into the heavier modern mesh textures. I am in love with this show!
There must have been a moment of apprehension early on, when Daisy Lowe arrived dressed in such dazzling devastation as she did. No one wants the front row to steal the show, however I think everyone attending quietened any qualms when the hordes of flushed corseted models hit the runway for the epic grand finale. A moment to be remembered!
